MPX48 SURFACE TOUCH? PAGING MICROPHONE 4 ZONES

The MPX series are paging microphones specifically designed for use in combination with MTX series audio matrixsystems.

The MPX48 is the 4-zone system allowing it being used in combination with an MTX48 4-zone audio matrix system.

The modern shaped enclosure is finished with a real glassfront panel provided with an anti-glarecoating.

This offers a microphone with elegant outlook which will be appreciated in any office or even design interior environment.

The controls are integrated in the glass panel through capacitive touch button principle without any mechanically moving parts, same as the indicator LED’s which are completely blended.

This guarantees a real high-end outlook and user experience.

An integrated chime tone is audible before each announcement.

Announcements are made through the integrated pipe-neck microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern, and can be tiltedto the desired angle.

Both zone selection and data bus indicators are implemented, giving an overview of the systems current operation mode and data bus occupation.

Quick operation is made possible using the ‘select’& ‘clear all’ buttons, while the ‘push-to-talk’ (PTT) button must be pressed during announcements.

Connection to the matrix system is done through a fixed connection cable with a length of 2 meter.

This distance can be extended to a maximumlength of 300m using standard CAT5E (or better)twisted pair cabling.

Cascading multiple paging stations is possible using the priority-based (user-configurable) databus, when using additional junction boxes ARJ03P or CP45ARJ.

{tab FAQs}
My amplifiers are located 30+ metres from the MTX. Can I run these distances from the pre-outs?
You would need to run balanced audio (microphone) cable from the MTX to the amplifier locations. Over this distance, I would recommend the use of a good quality cable. For example - Procab make a ‘solid core‘ balanced installation cable. The use of solid cores gives ita lower conductor DC resistance (89.3 ohms/KM) over its stranded equivalent. At RRP $1.42 per metre, it is not what I would consider to be an ‘expensive‘ mic cable, but that is due to the lower manufacturing cost to produce solid conductors. The tinned Copper conductors, LSHF UV-Resistant jacket and an installed operating temperature range of -20 to +80 degrees Celsius, make it suitable for indoor / outdoor applications.
What amplifiers are they using?
If they are commercial amps with balanced inputs, then you should have no issues. If they are domestic amps with unbalanced inputs, you will need to add a balanced to unbalanced device for each amp channel. The only other problem that may arise are ground loops between the MTX and the remote amps (as I‘m sure the various buildings will have their own electrical boards which may result in ground loops and audible ‘hum‘). It‘s probably something that won‘t be known until the gear is installed on site. Amplifiers with ‘ground lift‘ switches might also assist here.
